More and more consumers are turning to Amazon to shop for the items they want, and it’s not all good news for traditional brick-and-mortar retailers.
A new survey by a new research firm, Brandwatch, found that shoppers are now looking for more variety on Amazon, including the latest, most innovative products.
The survey found that 73 per cent of shoppers said they were looking for products that have been designed by Amazon, with the rest saying they were searching for a product that was made by an Amazon company.
In addition, 67 per cent said they would buy an item that was “made by Amazon” if the price was similar to that of a local competitor, the report said.
As a result, Amazon is “trying to capture more market share from brick- and-mortars,” said the report, which was conducted in April and May.
“It’s a bit of a shift,” said Brandwatch CEO Chris Wilson.
“I think the retail landscape is shifting to Amazon and the companies are trying to get into that space.

The survey, conducted for Brandwatch by the market research firm Marketo, found more than one-third of Amazon shoppers surveyed had an Amazon Prime membership, which allows them to shop and shop for free.
In the United States, the average Amazon Prime member spends an average of $8 per month on Amazon.com, the company’s website, according to Marketo.
In Canada, the survey found nearly one-quarter of Canadians who have a Prime membership said they shop at Amazon.ca, which is the online store that hosts Prime Day.
A spokesperson for Amazon declined to comment on the survey.
The report found that Amazon was one of the biggest sellers on Amazon Prime Day, with sales up 10 per cent on the previous year’s event.
Amazon is also one of Amazon’s fastest-growing revenue streams.
The company has also been selling a wide variety of products, including electronics and household appliances.
A brand like Target sells products from a range of retailers, and is one of a handful of retailers that offer a free shipping option on Amazon orders.
Target has been experimenting with more diverse product offerings.
The retailer recently began offering a range that includes “sustainable” organic produce, organic eggs, organic meats, and organic vegetables.
It’s also looking to add more niche items and new categories, such as organic snacks, to its offerings, Wilson said.
A survey from Target last year found that about 25 per cent, or about 3 million people, use its Prime membership for their shopping.
That figure rose to 38 per cent in 2016, according a Brandwatch report, but Brandwatch attributed that figure to a smaller sample size and other factors.
“There is no reason that we should believe the number of people who use Prime as a shopping channel for non-prime products,” Wilson said in an email.
“It would be a mistake to conclude that there is no growth or that Prime membership is not growing.”

A lot of things have been popping up at Amazon this year.
For instance, the retailer is offering a wide range of organic and natural products that are now available in stores across Canada, such, organic bananas, organic chocolate, organic coffee, organic juice, and more.
And it’s also offering products that were not previously available at the store, such a “smart home” speaker, which lets you control your lights from a smartphone and even turn off the lights when you’re not in use, and an “air mattress” that “has a built-in battery.”
As for new products, Amazon has also recently launched a “Amazon Prime” app that allows customers to buy, rent, and share the latest and greatest deals.
It is the only place where you can sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime, and there are also special offers available for Prime members, including a “one-day” savings of $20 on new mattresses, clothing, and toys.
