More than 70,000 people have signed up to create fan pages on Facebook in the last month, with a growing number of the new pages attracting a large following.
But it’s not all about the money.
For one, the numbers of followers have increased by an average of more than 10,000 per day in the past week, with some sites seeing a surge in their popularity.
And there are also social media influencers like celebrity chefs and fashion designers, with thousands of fans posting photos and videos of their creations on Facebook.
The trend is likely to continue for the foreseeable future, as more social media platforms open up their feeds to users.
But for the first time, Facebook users have also had the chance to test their social media prowess and create their own fan pages.

This week, a fan from Sydney, Australia, wrote to Facebook with the tag “I’m a fan of your work”.
She posted a photo of herself on her profile and tagged a person from the band Foo Fighters.
“They’re the only person that I’ve ever gotten to really connect with on Facebook, and it’s made me really happy,” she wrote.
“My favorite Foo Fighters song is Foo Fighters ‘Wish You Were Here’.”
